on the a-side we have the cheeky >24 hour party sausage<, where garry takes us back to the sounds of the early 90s uk rave scene. its a peak time old school vocal affair with a raw, analog bassline, stuttered drums and chopped up stabbed vocals. stepping up for remix duty on this future classic is the mole who flips the original on its head and creates a dancefloor creeper for those darker club moments. winding the bassline and metallic beats between the rawness of the original groove and imparting his trademark spooky percussion, rhythms and eerie vocals. b-side >vacation in sunderland< is a love story with a firm salute to the classic down tempo us house of the 90s. its time to dust off those shell suits, high top sneakers and cazal shades and get ready for another slung back, funked out garry todd house jam with growling, rolling bass and seductive vocals and keys. on the remix front fellow illusion family members death on the balcony step up with a classic house masterstroke that compliments garrys slower and sleazier original. here dotb pick up the pace in a brilliantly original rework that accentuates the vocals and piano hook to create a summer house anthem - a stylish finish to another diverse installment from the illusion crew.

maxmillion dunbar returns to future times with his first release there since it began with his >outrageous soulz< 45. >max trax for world peace< takes the house sound maxmillion hinted at on his 2010 >cool water< lp (for uks ramp recordings) into sublime territory. tip! in the hyper-percussive, shape-shifting opener >polo,< max mixes italian house, angelic choirs and a bouncing bassline, while >ballroom< sees a synthetic waltz become ambient disco as 707 claps echo from the corners. >piano & dream world< engulfs the entire b-side with a blissful, heart-wrenching workout indebted to those head-down, eyes closed house tunes of the past, adding what sounds like a smudged digital orchestra to a roller of a track that marches on (>and on<) forever

the vinyl a side of release no.002 is brought by one of the label owners himself. alex niggemann. jewels is a track that gives you the sensation or maybe a vague feeling that something wild is going to happen. alex niggemann builds up the tention slowly. with a deep beat and some ethnical vocals he combines the secrets of an ancient world with the nowadays club scene. the warm toned percussions groove at a pace that definitely makes you move your feet, then your hips follow until your whole body moves to the rythmn. with lots of athmospheric details alex niggemann has created an audio piece to start perfect open air dj sets with. listening closely to it one can determine bells, street noises, sounds of goats or sheeps and a crowd talking. these elements are floating timelessly and combine into a hypnotic wave of sounds. to create a striking dynamic the producer has used calmness within intense passages. but the slightly more suble moments soon open up and harmonic string chords form into the arrangement which are eclapsing in the vocal hook line, one can barely not memorize. after former releases at labels such as hi-freaks and kindisch the recenty formed soulfooled is proud to present this munich dj and producer team with a staggering new track, findling & lihab created a deephouse mix with ol times combining smooth vocals with raw edgy chords.
the beautiful swimmers return! big coastsees the swimmers bring more and more influences into the vibe, from the reggae chunk, sleeping bag trumpets, and percussive tidal wave of the title track, to the 808 kraut spiral of touch base, a cut that sounds like tangerine dream doing some heavy breathing in ghana. rounding out the 12is give it all you got, an aggressive disco stormer djs have been asking us about for almost a year now. summer is here!

reggie blount is one cool fucker doing some great p-funk electro tracks as one would expect to hear from midnight star, morris day and the time, bootsy collins and the many unknown early 80s unknown electro funk boogie funkateers. heavily influenced by the underground electro-boogie style of the early 80s as well as more known artists such as one way, kashif, mtume, cameo, and parliament. reggie blount brings together the elements which led these styles to the forefront of the club scene at a time when drum machines and synthesizers were giving birth to the bedroom recording artist. mr blount offers up some heat for your funk bone on his long anticipated debut ep! as with all crown limited releases only two manufacturing runs... one is pre-orders only... two is when prices go crazy in the 2nd hand market. so make sure you will pre-order this in time!

HARD TIMES HANGING AT THE END OF THE WORLD (WHITE VINYL LP)
coloured 12 Inch 20.11.09
reaching back through time to lay hands in the forges of metal, nycs children riff out the present with their debut, hard times hanging at the end of the world. formed through jam sessions by guitarists skyler spohn, jonny rad ollsin (formerly of vancouvers s.t.r.e.e.t.s.), and drummer adam bennati (of early man), the group laid waste to clubs in and around the city beginning in late 2006, and have kept shredding onward. tradition meets stamina head on throughout hard times six massive tracks. with intricate, narrative dual guitar work and a frenzied, wired demeanor children bring it all together: thrash advancements, serious girth, familiar passages crosscut with relentless speed, a formidable edge, and self proclaimed spiritual conspiracy party riffs.
incl. manuel tur remix. the second chapter in mild pitch history reveals the cryptically twinkling gem that is langenberg s times , a dark yet sensitive house affair which easily bridges the gap from a rougher 1990s new jersey kind of feel to the modern takes on house music of today. filtered stab fragments and deep chordal layers gently slide into each other like watercolour and the shifting frequencies of a sizzling vinyl record contribute to langenberg s most thrilling work to date. on the flip, manuel tur gears up for an atmospheric remix expansion reminiscent of his critically acclaimed 0201 album debut on freerange earlier this year. countless harmonic layers twine around a filtered disco sample, without ever revealing its full sound spectrum while the raw tripping beat keeps stomping relentlessly…
supported by paul woolford, neil quigley, greg dowling (fish go deep), shigeru tanabu, fred berthet (troublemakers), craig morrisson, nacho marco, dj rork & more
tony nwachukwu is a pioneer and his musical roots go way back. he was the mastermind behind attica blues on the legendary mo wax label and has produced wonderful music which is still timeless. remixes for people like unkle, macy gray and even duran duran prove how incredible he is. at the red bull music academy he teaches his skills to young talented producers and has established an interesting night at londons plastic people called cdr where they only play unreleased music. cdr has also worldwide events. with burnt progress he gives young producers the chance to release their music on his label. his first ep for drumpoet is championing his big love for techno(logy) and equipment in general and underlines the great musical knowledge and open-mindedness of this forgotten legend he is! the ep has already huge support from some of the best djs around and the quality of all three tracks whether it is the detroit-ish t time too the twisted outta ere or the broken flowin is impossible to ignore!
an excellent comilation if the fine future times label that has 4 tracks by beautiful swimmers, sensual beings, max d and protct u... as fairly unknown producers doing some shit hot disco funk and pure house tracks that would have been regulars in larry levans box, if he still would have been around. not sure where all these guys all of a sudden come from... but some seriously good music here!
after the success of their collaboration with paul thomas on last years festival anthem >arena<, mark knight and funkagenda join forces once again on one of the most eagerly anticipated tracks showcased at this years miami wmc.
>good times< is the feel good anthem of the summer comprising of a modest intro with a warbling bass line driving slowly through collecting sounds, before opening up into an edgy synth stab and finally the insanely catchy vocal hook >these are the good times<! the track drops back in like a speeding locomotive train going full steam ahead, with cleverly placed percussion, fx and siren sounds soaring to create an intense rhythm.
on the flip, >flauta magica< shows the diversity of these two acclaimed producers when they get in the studio together. taking a different route from the lead track and concentrating more on the groove, >flauta magica< chugs along nicely with an almost tribal percussive feel to it. the excellent chanting vox sample, reminiscent of the early house sound, keeps the groove rolling along into the drop. taking the lead from the tracks name, a whistling flute riff drops elevating the musical vibe to a new balearic level.
sleazy mcqueens latest offering big times, big tings has a dub ragga house feel to it, showing that the boston-based headtunes recordings aren t afraid to push the boundaries with the music they release. remixer cole medina, producer of legend and mystery , has released music that house and disco djs the world over know and cherish on his own label, house arrest, as well as american standard, hairy claw and internasjonal.
a little piece of sampledelia from maxmillion dunbar (future times, food for animals) and ari g (manhunter). you know when you scoop a record at some flea because the art looks tight, but it turns out that the shit is wack except for some little beautiful chunk? yea you do. we rescued the good parts from many terrible records that otherwise just would ve collected bad vibes on our floors. dudes trying to bring back something like early daniel wang but mix it with heavy boogie visions (swimmers groove) and all these psuedo-african slow cuts from the 90s that we keep finding (o yea). lifeguards for the vibe.
